Locals and tourists took to the streets of downtown Christiansted on Saturday, July 9th to partake in Jump Up! The quarterly event is a “carnival-like” cultural party held in the streets and along the boardwalk, filled with live music, dancers, food vendors and a mesmerizing display of fireworks.
Backed by local businesses aiming to stimulate sales, the event sees businesses staying open past regular hours to engage the additional patronage.
Labelled “Summer Jump Up”, Friday night’s gathering was a grand celebration of local culture and cuisine, with vendors lining various streets. Bands and deejays kept the crowd entertained, as attendees reveled in the festivities.
