A letter received from Chamber Member & CEO / Founder of MUTINY Island Vodka, Todd Manley
April 10, 2020
Good Morning,
We wanted to write to personally thank the community for their support and their teamwork in our time of need. Especially also is a big thank you to the government agencies, and essential businesses that still keep working on the behalf of us all! This collaboration between independent businesses and community to create local solutions to global problems underscore why it is so important to support local and have some independent self sufficiencies in our amazing home in the USVI. It is this community pulling together that makes things happen!
We would like to thank the breadfruit tree and those that care for the building of its responsible agroforestry. This crisis just gives for strength to the need for local agriculture, food security, and local economic opportunity through having our own resources to draw from. Go Breadfruit!
We would like to thank Ramone Reid at Cultured Naturals, who’s innovation before the COVID 19 crisis was here, found a use for MUTINY Island Vodka in Cultured Naturals amazing skin care line of products. Furthermore, they immediately acted when the need for hand sanitizer arose, creating expertly crafted foaming soaps and hand sanitizers with premium ingredients. Cultured Natural’s call to action was incredible despite the challenges associated with packaging and shipping, and they made it happen!
Limetree Bay Energy deserves a big thank you for immediately stepping up to the plate and taking responsible, fast action to address the COVID 19 problems. Spearheaded by David Wallis, Duke Givens, and Lee Fleming, they not only used their resources to assist in labeling and safety data sheets, but they have also assisted in faster shipping lanes and distributing sanitization products to their entire facility to keep their staff and the community as a whole as safe as possible. Thank You! This group rocks!
Leatherback Brewing and Caribbean Crafted Distribution, makers of uber fresh local beer and distributor for MUTINY Island Vodka as well, has gone over and beyond as always. They have jumped in to hep increase capacity by using their beer fermenters to create more raw distillable supply, and used their distribution network to get product to retailers to get the product to the community. In addition, they are fielding the numerous calls for getting the products out there, and having to explain about production times and packaging deficiencies. This is a full time job in itself! Thank you!
The prominent local grocers have stepped up for the community as they always continuously do! They always deserve a big thank you! They have offered their connections to obtain packaging, raw materials, and even shipping assistance. In addition, they are making sure their shelves are stocked immediately every time more product is available to get it to the community as soon as possible. You have to love them!
Thank you to all the staff (particularly hit hard in the hospitality industry) and community members that despite having gainful employment they all keep positive vibes by adhering to the strategies the Governor has put in place, but also even volunteering their time to assist making good things happen. Be assured we are all working hard to obtain the financial assistance needed to get everyone some sort of relief and back to work when this has passed.
We could continue this immense list of thank you, and we encourage everyone to thank each other in our community for pulling together as we always do. Be kind.
While all of these businesses work independently, it is the spirit of family and the greater good that even as we operate independently we can help each other succeed and solve problems together.
So proud to be a small part of this community. As stated by an African proverb, “ alone we can go fast, but together we can go far!”
THANK YOU!
